Rotary Club Iyaganku Ibadan Installs Rotn. Otunba Oyedapo Idowu as 38th President
It was a gathering of creme de la creme of the Nigerian society from far and wide who came to felicitate and witness the investiture of Rotn. Otunba Oyedapo Richard Idowu as the 38th President of Rotary Club Iyaganku Ibadan, the induction of it's board of directors for the year 2026/27 as well as a fund raising campaign.
The memorable event which took place on Saturday 8th August 2026 in Ibadan the Oyo State capital had in attendance notable Rotarians and Rotractors from Oyo State and beyond, family members, and friends of Rotary Club. The attendees included the Chief Host Rotn. Otunba Oyedapo Richard Idowu the 38th President of Rotary Club Iyaganku Ibadan, his board of directors for year 2026/27 and members, past Presidents and board directors, District Governor Olaniyi Amoo Okin of district 9126, Dr. Mrs. Olamide Alao Akala who was the guest speaker, Oba Adeniji Abayomi Adeleye the Oloje of Igbasi Akoko kingdom of Ondo State, pharmacists Aderemi Omotoso, Tosin Ishola, prophet Olubusayo Adegbola, Engr. Dimeji Morakinyo, Mr Sunday Adegbite bursar Federal college of education Oyo State, Hon. Akinwale Akinwale chairman Oyo State local government service commission, architect Akinpelu, Alhaji Agbaakin Ariyibi Ajagbe, Mr. Nelson Ekujumi, security operatives, and many others.
In her presentation on the theme of the event, which was "Creating lasting impact" the guest speaker Dr. Mrs. Olamide Alao Akala spoke extensively on the qualities of a leader which includes among others, the ability to mobilize men and resources to accomplish tasks to create a lasting impact. In her words, "A leader must be accountable, create room for new ideas and build partnership even beyond his immediate environment in order to create a lasting impact".
She congratulated Rotary club Iyaganku Ibadan and the new President Rotn Otunba Oyedapo Richard Idowu whom she extolled his leadership qualities and expressed confidence in his ability to take the club to greater heights.
After being installed as the 38th President of Rotary club Iyaganku Ibadan, the 38th President Rotn Oyedapo Richard Idowu performed his first task which was to call the meeting to order and thereafter proceeded to give his acceptance speech.
In his speech, he expressed appreciation to his club members for the honour done not only to him, but also to his family by the investiture and promised to join hands with his board of directors, members and interests in sync with the motto of Rotary international to create a lasting impact.
Rotn Otunba Oyedapo Idowu noted that "Government alone cannot reach all the nooks and crannies of the society, hence corporate organizations and philanthropists are enjoined to key into the vision of Rotary club to touch lives"
Another major highlight of the event and fund raising campaign was the presentation of awards to deserving Nigerians for their service to humanity, among whom were the executive Governor of Ekiti State Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Engr Tayo Olajubu, Iyalaje Oyeyinsola Ajagbe, Prof Olusayo Adegbola, Akogun Yinka Afonja, pharm. Aderemi Omotosho, Dr. Oladapo Olanipekun (SAN) among several others, who made pledges of financial support.
