Governor Uba Sani Felicitates with Fmr. Governor Makarfi at 70
On behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State, I warmly felicitate with our esteemed elder statesman, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, CON, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. As a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and distinguished participant in our nation’s democratic journey, you have devoted a substantial part of your life to the service of our State and country.
Your tenure as Governor remains a significant chapter in Kaduna’s history. At a particularly challenging period, you demonstrated that leadership transcends the exercise of authority; it requires listening, building bridges, accommodating differences and finding common ground. Your commitment to dialogue, inclusion, respect for diversity and accessible governance helped strengthen the bonds of community and belonging across our State. The enduring affection and respect you command across ethnic, religious and political divides remain a powerful testament to the human dimension of your leadership and the enduring imprint of your public service.
As we continue to pursue a peaceful, secure, inclusive and prosperous Kaduna, we recognise that progress is a continuum, built on the contributions of those who served before us. At 70, your life of service remains an inspiration to a new generation and a reminder that public office, when anchored in humility, courage and commitment to the common good, can leave a lasting legacy.
