RENEWED HOPE AGENDA CREATING STABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR INVESTMENT, ENTERPRISE — INFORMATION MINISTER

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on creating a more stable environment for investment, enterprise and long-term economic growth while expanding opportunities for Nigerians to participate in the economy.

Idris stated this on Tuesday in Abuja in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Baba Ndace, at the New Nigeria Festival.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is built around that same challenge. The administration has undertaken major reforms to create a more stable environment for investment, enterprise and long-term growth, while expanding opportunities for Nigerians to participate in the economy,” he said.

The Minister said ideas alone could not create prosperity, stressing that they must be supported by access to capital, skills, infrastructure, markets and an environment where businesses can grow.

He said Nigeria’s young population was already demonstrating its potential in technology, creative industries, digital services, manufacturing and entrepreneurship, adding that government’s role was to create the conditions for that talent to translate into businesses, jobs and exports.

“The challenge before us is therefore straightforward: we must move from ideas to execution, from talent to opportunity, and from opportunity to measurable results,” Idris said.

The Minister highlighted the Federal Government’s Hire From Nigeria campaign, launched in August, as an initiative to connect Nigerian professionals, skilled workers, digital experts, creatives and service providers with international employers and markets.

“This is an important shift in how we think about exports. Nigeria has traditionally spoken about exporting commodities. We must also export knowledge, skills, creativity and professional services,” he said.

He also cited the Digital Training Academy, launched in September, as part of efforts to equip Nigerians with digital skills and professional certifications.

Idris urged participants at the festival to build partnerships that can turn ideas into businesses, jobs, exports and practical solutions.
