CRASH IN ONDO: CAIDOV CONDOLES WITH AIR FORCE, PRESIDENT TINUBU AND NIGERIANS, DEMANDS PROBE INTO ILL-FATED FLIGHT

The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has expressed deep shock and sadness over the unfortunate crash of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, which claimed the lives of 32 persons.

In a condolence message signed by its Executive Director, Comrade Gbenga Soloki, CAIDOV described the incident of Monday, 5th October, 2026 as a national tragedy and a great loss to the Nigerian Armed Forces and the entire country.

The ill-fated aircraft with registration number NGR 931, carrying 25 passengers and 7 crew members, was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it lost contact with air traffic controllers at about 9:13am and subsequently crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, where the wreckage was later found.

CAIDOV however called on the Federal Government and the Nigerian Air Force authorities to order an immediate, thorough and transparent probe into the incident to unravel the cause or causes of the ill-fated flight.

The group prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed heroes and for God to grant their families and colleagues the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
