MOUN COMMENCES NATIONWIDE REGISTRATION AND BIOMETRIC CAPTURE OF MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS TO ENHANCE NATIONAL SECURITY

The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria, MOUN, has commenced immediate nationwide registration and biometric data capture of all motorcycle riders as a proactive security measure.

This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by the Federal and State Governments to strengthen national security, improve public safety, and enhance emergency response mechanisms in light of current security challenges.

Objectives of the Exercise:

1. Create a verified national database of all motorcycle operators

2. Support law enforcement agencies in crime prevention and investigation

3. Reduce criminal activities involving motorcycles

4. Enable rapid identification of riders during security operations

The exercise covers all commercial and private motorcycle riders, including Okada operators and delivery riders.

MOUN emphasizes that this data capture exercise is not intended to harass law-abiding citizens. It is a protective measure designed to safeguard riders, passengers, and the general public.

We urge all motorcycle operators nationwide to cooperate fully with MOUN registration officials to ensure a smooth and peaceful exercise.
