Lagos Turns Sod for Adeniji Adele Housing Estate Phase 1 Anikantako, Lagos Island
History was made today Tuesday 10th February 2026 in Lagos as the Lagos State Government through the office of Urban Development in the ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), turned the sod at the ground breaking ceremony of the Adeniji Adele Housing Estate Phase 1 Anikantako, in the Lagos Island area of the state.
The event drew a large crowd of Lagosians which included Dr. Olajide Abiodun Babatunde the Special Adviser (SA) to Governor Sanwo-Olu on E-GIS and Urban Development, Mr. Olusola Faleye MD/CEO, Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC), Dr. Animashaun Oladimeji Ayinde GM LASURA, Builder Gbaye GM Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Otunba Mobolaji Osinuga, President BOVARIUS Construction, Honourable Fouad Oki, members of the business community, traditional and community leaders, security agencies and members of the press.
Dr. Olajide Abiodun Babatunde who represented Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that "today's group breaking ceremony is a reaffirmation of the Sanwo-Olu's administration commitment to the well-being of the good people of Lagos State".
He stated that the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is resolutely determined to ensure that "the challenges of housing deficit in Lagos is a critical issue which will not be left unaddressed by our administration".
Thereafter, Dr Olajide Abiodun Babatunde, honourable Fouad Oki, TPL/ESV Oladimeji Animashaun the General Manager of LASURA and others took turns to turn the sod for the new estate which is expected to be completed in record time.
