Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff Is Arrested by NDLEA: The Fall of a Notorious Drug Lord

For years, Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff operated in the shadows, running an international drug trafficking network that stretched from Nigeria to South Korea. He was a man of mystery, a ghost in the criminal underworld, carefully evading law enforcement while growing his empire. But on February 12, 2025, the long arm of the law finally caught up with him.

Ogbonnaya’s name had been whispered in security circles for years. His operations were sophisticated, his movements calculated. The NDLEA, working alongside Interpol and South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, had been piecing together the puzzle of his activities.

The evidence was damning—young Nigerians, desperate for a better life, had been recruited by Ogbonnaya to smuggle drugs into South Korea. Many of them never made it past airport security, arrested in foreign lands, their lives shattered. Yet, the man behind their misfortune remained untouchable.

Everything changed in early 2025. Intelligence reports pointed to a location in Lagos—No. 3, Ibukunoluwa Taiwo Close, off LASU Road. It was there that Ogbonnaya had been hiding, confident that his elaborate network would keep him safe. But the NDLEA had been watching.

On the morning of February 12, a team of heavily armed operatives stormed his hideout. The drug lord barely had time to react before he was in handcuffs.

Inside the house, investigators found evidence of his criminal empire—multiple Nigerian passports with Korean visas, proof of his human trafficking ring. Even more incriminating were the illicit substances hidden at the back of the house, undeniable proof of his drug business.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), described Ogbonnaya as one of the most wanted drug barons in the world. “We have incontrovertible facts confirming his role in drug trafficking. Many Nigerians arrested abroad were linked to him. He also laundered drug proceeds through the importation of electronics and other goods,” Marwa stated.

With his arrest, the walls of Ogbonnaya’s empire are collapsing. His network, once untouchable, is now in the crosshairs of the authorities. As the case unfolds, the NDLEA is determined to ensure that justice is served, not just for the victims of his trafficking ring, but for the country’s fight against drug cartels.

For years, Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff thought he was above the law. But in the end, the law found him.
