PAF Congratulates Lagosians on Red Rail Line
A civil society organization, Patriotism Awareness Forum (PAF) has congratulated the government and people of Lagos State over the commissioning of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) whose vision as Governor of Lagos State between 1999-2007 birthed this landmark project that has become a reality.
In a press statement issued in Lagos today Sunday 3rd March 2024 by the Convener and Co-Convener Nelson Ekujumi and Peter Claver Oparah, the group noted that, "We are grateful to God that President Bola Tinubu's vision of mass transportation system for Lagosians over two decades ago, remained on course with his worthy successors in Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu who keyed into the dream and have brought it to reality with the Blue Rail line and now the Red Rail line".
PAF commends and congratulates Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for being a worthy servant of the people through his intellectual and infrastructural prowess in bringing to life the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line to complement the Blue Rail line as well as the huge investments on roads and water transportation systems to transform Lagos into a smart city in line with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
That the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration can execute the Blue Rail Mass Transit Line and Red Rail Mass Transit Line within a span of 4 years of which two Presidents of Nigeria, former President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) and current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) have commissioned the projects within a life span of 13 months apart, speaks volume of the administrative capacity, capability and doggedness of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to leave his footprints in the sand of time.
It is not in doubt that Lagos as a state with a huge population of over 25 million people, requires a multi modal transportation system to ease the movement of goods and services for its economic benefit and welfare of the people which has become a reality in our lifetime and for this, "We the people of Lagos are eternally grateful to the democratically elected governments of the state since 1999 till date".
The group used the occasion of it's statement to admonish Lagosians to take ownership of the infrastructural and architectural renewal of Lagos by being patriotic and collaborative partners with the government of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to birth other life changing policies and projects to the glory of God and the collective benefit of the people.
PAF, also called on the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration not to rest on its oars but to continue to do more to better the lives of the people who are appreciative and always willing to cooperate with it for the collective vision of Lagos as a smart city of our dreams.
The civil society organization as well charged Nigerians to remain focused and keep faith with democracy as the most viable route to reach our destination of good governance and not succumb to the antics of anti democratic elements who are on the prowl to politicize our economic situation for political capital
