*LEADERSHIP, SERVICE AND IMPACT*

*LEADERSHIP, SERVICE AND IMPACT*

PAPER DELIVERED BY: *COMR. OMOJUWA OLUFEMI (Ph.D)* ON THE INAUGURATION AND AWARD CEREMONY OF TEAM KOH SUPPORT GROUP LAGOS ON THE 21st of August 2026. @ IKOTUN IGANDO LCDA.

Leadership is not a title. Service is not a duty. Impact is not an accident.

The three walk together. When one is missing, the others become empty.

*1. LEADERSHIP: THE CALL TO DIRECTION*

Leadership is the ability to see what others cannot see yet, and to take people there.

True leadership has 3 marks:

1.  *Vision* - A leader carries a picture of a better tomorrow. Without vision, people drift. A leader says “This is where we are going” and gives people hope.

2.  *Character* - People don’t follow titles, they follow credibility. Integrity, humility, and courage are the currency of leadership. If your character cannot carry your vision, the vision will crush you.

3.  *Influence* - Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less. You may not have a gavel, but if people are willing to move because of your word, you are leading.

Great leaders don’t create followers. They create more leaders. That’s why *PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFR, COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF ARMED  FORCES, DR. KADRI OBAFEMI HAMZAT* and leaders like them in *TEAM KOH* don’t just mobilize people for 2027. They raise people who can also mobilize others.

*2. SERVICE: THE HEART OF LEADERSHIP*

If leadership is the head, service is the heart.

Service means putting people before position. It is leadership in work clothes.

1.  *Servant Leadership*: The greatest leaders are servants first. Jesus washed feet. Mandela went to prison for his people. Real leaders ask: “How can I help?” not “How can I be served?”

2.  *Sacrifice*: Service costs something. Your time, your money, your sleep, your comfort. You don’t serve from surplus alone. You serve because people matter.

3.  *Accessibility*: You cannot serve people you are too big to talk to. Service brings you to the grassroots. To the market woman, the student, the driver. That’s where real needs are.

In politics, business, church, or community, service is what turns a position into a blessing. It is what makes people say: “He didn’t just lead us. He stood with us.”

*3. IMPACT: THE PROOF OF LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE*

Impact is the evidence. It is what remains after the speech, the meeting, and the tenure is over.

Impact answers 3 questions:

1.  *Did lives change?* Impact is not crowd size. It is transformed lives. A child in school because of you. A youth with a skill because of you. A community with light because of you.

2.  *Did systems improve?* Personal charity is good. But impact builds systems that outlive you. Policies, institutions, structures that keep working even when you leave office.

3.  *Did the name of the people be lifted?* True impact makes the family name, the community name, the state name proud. Like we see with leaders who stand for Lagos and Nigeria.

Impact is leadership and service that has been tested by time.

*THE CONNECTION: LEADERSHIP → SERVICE → IMPACT*

LEADERSHIP gives direction

    ↓

SERVICE gives sacrifice

    ↓

IMPACT gives results

You cannot have lasting impact without service.

You cannot have true service without leadership.

And leadership without service and impact is just noise.

*THE LESSON FOR US TODAY*

1.  *To Leaders*: Don’t chase titles. Chase problems you can solve. Your legacy will not be the office you held, but the lives you lifted.

2.  *To Servants*: Don’t wait for a position to serve. Start where you are. The little you do consistently becomes big impact.

3.  *To Everyone*: Ask yourself daily: “Did I lead someone today? Did I serve someone today? Did I leave someone better than I met them?”

*CONCLUSION*

The world does not need more bosses. It needs more leaders.

It does not need more titles. It needs more service.

It does not need more promises. It needs more impact.

When *Leadership, Service and Impact* come together, nations are built, families are restored, and generations are blessed.

*"Leadership is service. Service is sacrifice. Sacrifice is what creates impact."*
