At the well attended press conference which drew a large crowd of men and women of different ages and gender of the indigenous Awori people and concerned residents of Agege, Comrade Akinola Adebowale Secretary of the Orile Agege Descendants and Indigenous Awori people of Agege, was full of praises for the National Leadership and the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for affirming the wishes and aspirations of the people through the emergence of Hon. Sule Akindele Enimakure as the party's flag bearer for the Agege State Constituency 02 in the recently concluded APC primaries in Lagos State. He equally stated that the gathering was also in support of the emergence of Hon. Gbenga Michael Abiola as APC candidate for Agege State Constituency 01.
According to Comrade Adebowale, the gathering of today, " ... Is about the recognition of a community that has remained loyal to progressive politics for over six decades". "It is about justice, inclusion, fairness and the acknowledgement of the sacrifices made by the indigenous Awori people of Orile Agege LCDA since the days of AG, UPN, SDP, AD, AC, ACN and now the All Progressives Congress (APC)".
Comrade Adebowale also went historical about the political history of President Bola Tinubu as a resident of Orile Agege LCDA and emergence as a Senator under the banner of the SDP representing Lagos West in the aborted third Republic, and how the Awori and indigenous people of Orile Agege LCDA stood solidly behind him which culminated in his electoral victory then and have continued to do so till date for the Progressives.
He also reminded the August gathering of the diligence and dedication of Hon. Sule Akindele Enimakure father to the Progressives political family as Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Agege local government and later as the vice chairman of the Action Congress (AC) and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Agege local government until his demise in 2014.
Comrade Adebowale stated that during the last Lagos State Local government council elections in 2025, that there was not a single indigene of either Orile Agege, Ogba or Agege LGA that was chosen by the APC among the two candidates elected into the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship positions and the 13 councillorship positions in Agege LGA and Orile Agege LCDA, yet the people remained focused and loyal to the party by mobilizing and delivering massive votes for electoral victory in all elections notwithstanding.
"We therefore view the emergence of Hon. Sule Akindele Enimakure as a significant step towards ensuring that indigenous communities are not excluded from political representation within their ancestral domain".
Comrade Adebowale emphasized that the "Emergence of Hon. Sule Akindele Enimakure for Agege State Constituency 02 and Hon. Gbenga Michael Abiola for Agege State Constituency 01 has rekindled hope and enthusiasm among thousands of party faithfuls, youths, women, elders and community stakeholders across Orile Agege LCDA and Agege LGA".
