MWID TRAINS MIDDLE-LEVEL OFFICERS

…For Enhanced Service Delivery

As part of its commitment to transformative service delivery, fostering efficiency and professionalism, the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, has trained its middle-level officers from Grade Levels 01 to 12 on the “Ethics of Communication in the Civil Service.” The training aims at enhancing productivity and efficient service delivery by the Ministry.

The two-day training, held at the Secretariat, Alausa, covered key areas such as job enhancement, effective communication, workplace ethics, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and dedication to duty, with seasoned professionals delivering insightful lectures and facilitating interactive sessions.

Declaring the training open, the Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Bush Alebiosu, explained that the initiative goes beyond just capacity building.

“This training is not just an event but an opportunity for team bonding, intensive interaction, and strategic partnership and unity, which in the long run will foster effective and efficient service delivery.

“The knowledge you gain here will be instrumental in reshaping your commitment to duty, improving performance, and ultimately contributing to the socio-economic growth of Lagos State.”

He encouraged participants to engage actively, ask questions, and embrace continuous learning, adding that opportunities like this are rare and should be maximised.

The Permanent Secretary, ESV Adebayo Wasiu Olayinka, urged participants to pay attention and justify the public resources spent to organise the training.

He tasked them to rededicate themselves to their duties, stressing that the Ministry must always meet expectations, adding that “the training will help hone their skills and improve their expertise for greater efficiency.”

Speaking at the event, the Director of Administration & Human Resources, Mr. Akintunde Akinteye, who coordinated the training, commended the Governor, the Deputy Governor, the Honourable Commissioner, and the Permanent Secretary for facilitating the initiative.

“This training will go a long way in building capacity for our Ministry, and we deeply appreciate the leadership for making it possible. To whom much is given, much is expected,” he said.

On behalf of the participants, Mr. Musa Olaitan expressed gratitude to the State Government and the Ministry’s leadership for organising the impactful training.

“This has been an enlightening experience, and we are committed to reciprocating this gesture by delivering better service going forward,” he assured.

This initiative underscores the Ministry’s dedication to continuous professional development, which aligns with the Lagos State Government’s drive for excellence and improved service delivery within the civil service.
