COMMANDER NIGERIAN ARMY WOMEN COMMAND CALLS FOR COLLABORATION WITH NASPRI
The Commander, Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), Brigadier General Mohammed Sani Adamu, has expressed his readiness to strengthen and expand collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI).
He made this known on Tuesday, 4 February 2026, during his maiden familiarization visit to NASPRI at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja.
Brig Gen Adamu, while explaining the purpose of his visit, commended the longstanding relationship between both formations, noting that NASPRI has continued to play a critical role in the training and professional development of NAWC personnel. He expressed appreciation to the Commandant and staff of NASPRI for the warm reception accorded to him, describing the institution as not only a center of academic and professional excellence but also a regimental establishment, evident in the high level of discipline displayed at the quarter guard on his arrival.
The NAWC Commander disclosed that he assumed command on 29 January 2026 and stated his desire to consolidate and strengthen the existing partnership between both units.
He further outlined his vision for NAWC as “To reposition the Nigerian Army Women Command into an enviable height to deliver on its mission in support of the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy” According to him, this aligns with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu’s Command Philosophy: “To advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat-ready, and resilient force capable of decisively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint, multi-agency environment.”
In his response, the Commandant, NASPRI, thanked Brig Gen Adamu for the visit, describing it as timely and symbolic of purposeful leadership, especially coming shortly after his assumption of command. He reaffirmed NASPRI’s role as a key training institution for personnel of AFN as well as MDA's in public relations, information management, and strategic communication, while soliciting sustained collaboration with NAWC. He appreciates the guidance of the Acting Director Army Public Relations, which he describes as key to the overall professional military educational excellence in the School.
Brig Gen Adamu’s visit highlights the importance of synergy and cooperation among formations, units, and institutions as a cornerstone for effective military operations and national security.
Members of the Commander’s entourage included the Chief of Staff NAWC, Lieutenant Colonel N. Aghachi, the Commanding Officer, 1 Women Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel B.O. Evevakpor among other officers.
Highlights of the visit included the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
