NDDC REVIVES ARAROMI TOWNSHIP ROAD TO BOOST COASTAL ACCESS AND TOURISM

NDDC REVIVES ARAROMI TOWNSHIP ROAD TO BOOST COASTAL ACCESS AND TOURISM

The long-abandoned Araromi Township Road leading to Araromi Beach in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State has finally received a new lease of life, as NDDC mobilizes the contractor handling the project back to site.

After nearly four years of stagnation, the NDDC has re-mobilized the contractor handling the Araromi Seaside Road to the project site which signals a renewed commitment to completing the vital coastal infrastructure. The Araromi road, which connects the coastal communities of Ondo State to major economic hubs and tourist destinations, had been a subject of concern due to its dilapidated state and strategic importance.

Under the dynamic leadership and renewed vision of the current NDDC Board, the Commission has prioritized critical road infrastructure that promotes economic growth, tourism development, and improved mobility across Niger Delta communities.

Community leaders and residents of Araromi have lauded this development, describing it as a long-awaited breakthrough for coastal dwellers. More importantly, the road aligns with the Lagos-Calabar expressway which will enhance strategic road network of the area. They noted that the road, when completed, will not only enhance movement of goods and services but will also promote tourism, particularly around the serene Araromi Beach which remains one of the most naturally endowed coastal attractions in Nigeria.

With the contractor now back on site and work set to resume in earnest, hopes are high that the project will be delivered in record time. The NDDC under the watch of Hon Otito Atikase as Ondo Representative has reassured stakeholders of its commitment to quality and timely project execution as it works to transform the Niger Delta into a region of sustainable growth and prosperity.
