Comrade Kayode Opeifa Begins Familiarization Tour of the Eastern District of the NRC

In continuation of his familiarization tour of the Nigerian Railway Corporation districts across the country, to assess the state of facilities, familiarize himself with the staff and workers and seek areas of collaboration, the managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation Dr Kayode Opeifa is in the Eastern district of the NRC from the 15th - 17th of April 2025.

Comrade Kayode Opeifa and his management team started the Eastern district tour from the Port harcourt station and facilities of the NRC in Rivers State and he's expected to move to other stations and facilities in States within the district in order to interact with the staff and workers and assess the state of facilities to align with his mandate to reposition the Nigerian Railway Corporation in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu administration.

Recall that immediately on assuming office, Dr Opeifa embarked on familiarization tours of the Lagos and Western districts of the NRC, where he inspected the stations, coaches, wagons, and other facilities as well as interacted with the staff and workers, whom he admonished to be up and doing to make the NRC the transportation of choice for businesses conglomerates to move cargoes and containers as well as passengers on it's commercial corridors because of it's safety and comfort.

During his interactions with the workers at the Lagos and Western districts of the NRC, comrade Opeifa listened to the workers unions table catalogued of demands which centered on welfare and motivation, and the MD apart from assuring them that their demands will be positively looked into, also used the occasion to promise that the NRC under his leadership will witness a new era of inclusion, compassion and reward for hard work and excellence.

During his visitation to the two mentioned districts, comrade Opeifa used the occasion to enjoin the workers to be partners in progress with the new management and warned vandals to stay away from NRC facilities and equipments, that they are not scraps.
