.... MD Opeifa Pledges to Make Railway Attractive to Commuters

The headquarters of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in Yaba Lagos, played host to Galala and also known as Ghetto music superstar John Asiemo popularly called by the stage name Daddy Showkey, who came calling with his team.

Daddy Showkey was at the NRC headquarters in response to the invitation by the managing director comrade Kayode Opeifa to brief the management on his recent experience on the Warri Itakpe Train Service (WITS), where it was reported that the Galala music superstar entertained the passengers when the train had a short delay while fueling.

Comrade Opeifa commended Daddy Showkey for converting an issue of tension into a musical show to entertain and enliven the passengers on the train, while promising that the management is working towards ensuring hitch free train operations that would attract Nigerians patronage.

The MD of NRC comrade Opeifa applauded Nigerians for their level of patronage of train services nationwide and noted that "It is gratifying that celebrities such as Daddy Showkey find time to take a ride in our train".

Comrade Opeifa stated that the NRC is determined to make trains the preferred mobility alternative across the country. He highlighted the provision of passenger coaches and wagons as top priority of the management determination to provide a convenient alternative that is affordable, safe and secured to Nigerians.

Responding, Daddy Showkey expressed surprise at the NRC management invitation, but restated that he was not entirely surprised as it affirmed his conviction that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration made the right choice in appointing Comrade Kayode Opeifa to pilot the affairs of NRC in view of his laudable achievements in the transportation sector in Lagos State as a former Commissioner and the FCT as a former transportation secretary.

Daddy Showkey noted that though his experience during the trip on the Warri Itakpe Train Service was a mixed bag, it showed him that clearly the route is lucrative as passengers are yearning for increased frequency in train services to move passengers and farm produce at an affordable rate which will inadvertently bring down the cost of foodstuffs.

Daddy Showkey was accompanied to the NRC headquarters by his manager Mr. Morrison Ovedja. Before departing the NRC headquarters, the Ghetto music superstar thrilled the management and staff to some of his tunes which has endeared him to music lovers not only in Nigeria, but globally.
