Kayode Okunola Demands Public Apology from Ojudu Over Comments on former President Buhari

Dear Fellow Nigerians,

It is with great concern and disappointment that I address the recent disrespectful comments made by Babafemi Ojodu regarding former President Muhammadu Buhari. Such derogatory remarks, particularly from someone who served in the office of the Vice President, represent not only a breach of professional decorum but also a display of ingratitude that goes against our cultural values as Nigerians.

President Buhari, throughout his tenure, demonstrated unwavering commitment to Nigeria's development, implementing crucial reforms across various sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, and anti-corruption initiatives. His administration laid groundwork for significant national projects that continue to benefit our nation today.

For a former public servant who enjoyed the privilege of serving in such a high office to turn around and disparage the very leadership that provided that opportunity is not only unconscionable but reflects poorly on the character of the individual making such statements. Public service demands dignity, respect, and a sense of responsibility even after leaving office.

We must remind ourselves that leadership at the national level comes with unprecedented challenges, and while constructive criticism is valuable for our democracy, resorting to personal attacks and disrespectful characterizations serves no productive purpose. It only diminishes the dignity of our national discourse and sets a poor example for future generations.

I call on Babafemi Ojodu to reflect deeply on his words and consider making a public apology. As former public servants, we have a continuing duty to maintain the dignity of the offices we once held and to contribute positively to our national dialogue.

To all public servants, both serving and retired, let this serve as a reminder that our words carry weight, and we must always strive to engage in constructive discourse that builds rather than diminishes our national unity and democratic values.

We must continue to uphold the principles of respect, dignity, and decorum in our public communications, regardless of our personal opinions or political affiliations.

Sincerely,
@Taxdoctor
