CHIEF OF AIR STAFF MARKS CHRISTMAS WITH PERSONNEL IN MAIDUGURI
The Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar has described NAF personnel as "the shield that protects the vulnerable and the force that stands between chaos and stability.
This was at a combined operational tour with a luncheon at the NAF base Maiduguri where he celebrated Christmas, acknowledged the personnel's sacrifices, and re-emphasized NAF's commitment to national security.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa indicates that Air Marshal Abubakar lauded the personnel’s unwavering dedication to counter insurgency operations, noting their significant contributions to degrading insurgent capabilities.
A tour of facilities highlighted strides in readiness and welfare initiatives, reflecting NAF's continuous commitment to operational excellence.
In his address at a Durbar which dovetailed into the Christmas Luncheon, Air Marshal Abubakar praised the personnel for their resilience, particularly in spending the festive season away from their families, and paid tribute to the fallen heroes, assuring the gathering that their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
He also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to empowering the Armed Forces of Nigeria, which have bolstered NAF operations through welfare enhancement, advanced platforms procurement, and capacity-building programmes in line with the NAF’s non-kinetic strategies and have greatly supported the Service’s operational effectiveness.
