Enugu Council chairman flags off  construction of road to boost Agriculture, investment 






The chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr Eric Odo has flagged-off the construction of the 16.5KM to improved agricultural productivity, economy and enhanced accessibility.


Odo flagged-off the construction of Umuoka – Nkporogwu Ukehe – Ngele Okwete – Ugwuogo Nike Road and motorable roads in the 20 wards of Igbo-Etiti LGA.


He told journalists that the construction of the road would make it easier for people to access the area and open it up for more business opportunities.



According to him, the road will link three local government areas of Udi, Igbo-Etiti and Enugu-East and will have solar streetlights to beefing up security.



“The construction of this road is a legacy project which will wipe away the tears of our people who have long suffered.


"The road will facilitate easy transportation, especially for farmers, bring the communities into the spotlight and also end the problem of kidnapping and other insecurity disturbing our people.



“This is part of our achievement in office in the last one month and this road is scheduled to be completed within 90 days which 8s three months, " he said.


The Council Chairman promised that his administration would not abandon the project as funds needed to complete the Umuoka and others roads were readily available.



On his part, the Project Manager of the Architrite & Partner Ltd. Mr Jimon Oluwatosin, said the company would deliver quality road before the three-months deadline.



Also speaking, Mr Ezenta Ezeani,  the Deputy Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, congratulated the council chairman for embarking on such project, saying it is a way of ensuring that the people enjoy dividend of good governance.
