WE'LL NOT TACKLE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN A PREDICTABLE MANNER-TOKUNBO WAHAB






Hon Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab on Tuesday presided over his maiden management meeting, saying his quest for an improved environment  will not be tackled in a business as usual format. 


Addressing a gathering which also had in attendance the Special Adviser on Environment, Mr Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu and the two Permanent Secretaries, Gaji Omobolaji Tajudeen and Olalekan Shodeinde, he charged all the directors to be resolute about changing the negative narratives about the environment. 


He maintained that part of the issues of the lagos environment could be traced to a dislocation of policies which requires concerted efforts on the part of all stakeholders to be corrected.


He urged all the departmental heads to think out of the box as they confront the tasks of managing a megacity with over 20 million residents and still counting.


Mr Wahab said a robust relationship must be formed by the ministry with all its agencies towards ensuring synchronisation with the Themes Plus agenda of Mr Governor.


Also speaking, the Special Adviser, Mr Olakunle Rotimi- Akodu  stated  that there is still more to be done by the departmental heads towards  achieving environmental sustenance.


He gave a commitment to avail the environment sector in the State of his experience at the local government level.
